Two Brooklyn residents are headed to the U.S. Chess Championship.
Aleksander Lenderman, 28, and 34-year-old Irina Krush are headed to the April 17 national tournament in Saint Louis.
Both of them have been playing chess since they were about 9-years-old.
It's not their first time competing in the U.S. championship.
Krush has won several times and Lenderman almost won in 2014.
While they're both hoping to come home with new trophies, they say coaching is what has been most important to them.
Three other competitors from New York will also join them.
