A woman died following a hit-and-run on Remsen Avenue Sunday night.
Officials say that Dorothy Parker, 65, was crossing the street outside the designated crosswalk when she was struck by a car heading south toward Avenue A. They say that the driver paused momentarily but then continued to drive.
Police are looking for a 2003 to 2005 silver four-door Honda Accord with damage to the passenger side and mirror.
Family members say that Parker lived less than a mile away. They say that she was likely heading home from her job as a home health aide.
"She's always giving out food and stuff to the homeless people. She's such a sweet person," said Alethea Gillings, the victim's daughter. "So devastating to see someone just hit someone just like that and keep on moving. It's evil."
The NYPD urges anyone with information to come forward.
