Police: Baby found dead inside suitcase near Jersey City tracks

Port Authority police and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office say they found the body of an infant inside a suitcase in Jersey City.
According to investigators, a crew member aboard a PATH train first spotted the suitcase Wednesday around 2 p.m. below a pedestrian walkway near Van Wagenen Avenue.
Police left the scene around 3:15 p.m., carrying three large bags of evidence and another large object wrapped in brown paper, possibly the suitcase.
Detectives also carefully picked through a nearby city garbage can.
There is a 10-foot tall barbed wire fence surrounding the area where the body was found.
According to investigators, all the surrounding buildings have surveillance cameras that could give clues into what happened.
"I mean, it's very sad,” says neighbor Karen Hernandez. “Nothing like that has ever happened here.  It’s the first time and we got nervous because it hasn't ever happened over here"
The baby's gender and cause of death is still unknown, and an autopsy is set to determine that.
