A video has surfaced showing a parent involved in a massive school fight in the Bronx.
The video shows crowds of students making their way over to fight outside of the Bronx Career and College Preparatory High School.
The woman involved is Esmeralda Casado, the mother of 14-year-old Rishely Sanchez, who has been frequently bullied by a group of students, according to her mom.
Casado showed up to school Thursday looking to transfer her daughter, where she encountered some of the alleged bullies.
Chaos spilled out onto the street and Casado says she ultimately tried to shield her daughter as a group of students surrounded her.
Casado was arrested for striking a teen, but says she was only trying to protect her daughter from being abused by her peers following an alleged bullying incident.
Sanchez’s boyfriend was also at the scene of the beating. He says he does not want to disclose his name.
Police say they arrested Quazar Bond, a 17-year-old who is now facing assault and harassment charges.
Sanchez is now at Lincoln Hospital, recovering from the beating.
