Memorial held for woman found dismembered in Canarsie Park

CANARSIE -

Community members came together Monday night to remember the woman who was found dismembered in Canarsie Park last week.

Pink memorial ribbons draped across the fence of the park in honor of 26-year-old Brandy Odom. The ribbons aim to serve as a reminder of the crime and to ensure the case doesn't go cold.

The ceremony was organized by Borough President Eric Adams, and was led with prayers from local Christian and Muslim leaders.

Adams says they are working to keep this case in the headlines and at the forefront of the community's mind.

Odom's family called on anyone who may have known where she was or who she was with to come forward. Her mother, Nicole Odom, said she has been in contact with the NYPD.

Detectives are still trying to piece together Odom's last few days, between April 1 and April 8. Adams says police are also investigating where Odom was and who she was with on the night of Saturday, April 7.
