Bushwick man stabbed to death at home was landlord

The Bushwick man found stabbed to death in his home next to his wheelchair Tuesday was also the building's landlord, neighbors say.
City records confirm that Otis James, a retired MTA bus driver, owned 494 Central Ave.
According to neighbors, James lived on the first floor of the three-story building with his wife and two young children. People who knew him recall him as humble and friendly.
One tenant went as far as to call him the "best landlord" she'd ever had.
Police found the 46-year-old dead Tuesday afternoon. They are seeking a person of interest for questioning.
James was a bus driver until last year, when he retired on disability.
An MTA spokesman called the news tragic.
