Milford combat veteran remembered for his work with military families

A Milford combat veteran who served in Vietnam was remembered as "an American hero whose tireless work with military families will never be forgotten."
Sen. Richard Blumenthal said Charles Trumpower, who passed away 10 days ago, gained national prominence for educating families members about living with military vets suffering from PTSD.
Trumpower was also known by his pen name, "Elliot Storm," and traveled the country giving lectures on a book he wrote about his experiences in Vietnam.
"Elliot will always be with us as a patriot, a warrior, a writer, a veteran and a friend,” said Blumenthal.  “He fought so hard for every veteran.”
Trumpower was a highly decorated Marine who worked for the U.S. Secret Service during the Reagan administration.
He lost a long batter with cancer at the age of 71.
