Cherry Blossom Festival returns to Brooklyn

BROOKLYN -

The 37th annual Cherry Blossom Festival is set to bloom this weekend at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Even though the sea of pink comprised of cherry blossom trees is the star of the show, the flowers will be sharing the stage with acts, including samurai sword fighters.

The Japanese festival known as Sakura Matsuri is a celebration of spring, and the audience is encouraged to dress the part -- with some people expected to wear traditional kimonos, don all pink or even dress in cosplay.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden features more than 200 cherry trees.
