Police: Man forces way into Brighton Beach apartment building

Police are searching for the man in connection to a burglary in Brighton Beach.

Last month, officials say the man forced open the door of a residential building near Brighton 4th Street and Neptune Avenue. Once inside, they say he gained entry into a resident's apartment, taking jewelry and about $4,000 in cash.

The suspect is described as carrying a black book bag, a cane and sunglasses. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to called police.
