Police are on the hunt for four men who they say are behind a brutal home invasion that sent three people to the hospital.
Police say the armed robbery occurred around 4:30 p.m. on April 23 inside an apartment building near Pennsylvania and Vandalia avenues.
They say a 30-year-old man was leaving his apartment when four masked gunmen came up to him and repeatedly punched him in the face.
Officials then say the attackers tied his hands together with a plastic zip tie and stole $25 and a set of keys from his pockets.
News 12 was told that they then dragged the victim to his apartment door and used the keys to get inside. There, they found two more men and a woman, all in their early 20s.
Police say the thieves pulled out guns and forced all of the victims into the bedroom, using zip ties to tie the victims' hands behind their backs. They say the two men were also beaten in the face.
Authorities say the thieves stole $30 in cash, clothing and two pairs of sneakers worth $1,000.
A surveillance camera was able to capture images of two of the four gunmen.
All four victims were able to free themselves from the zip ties. The three men were taken to Brookdale Hospital and have since been released.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. Spanish-speakers can call 1-888-57-PISTA.
