A special surprise was in store for some local students doing some special things at one Bronx school.
Students at P.S. 73 were shocked to see more than 50 bikes unveiled in their auditorium Saturday.
Foundation For Life, a nonprofit made up of Barnum Financial Group's employees, raised $10,000 to purchase the bikes for some of the school's hardest-working students.
“Ultimately for a lot of these kids, this is the first time they've ever had a bike,” said Ben Soccodato, of the Foundation For Life. “Just to see the excitement and the joy makes a big difference for us.”
The children came to school for a day of sports to find out they were being treated to free bikes.
