A police precinct in the Bronx is treating moms to a special community brunch.
The 40th Precinct will host its first annual "Muffins for Mom'' brunch on May 10 at the Metropolitan College of New York.
Jennifer Gonzalez, a single mother of two, entrepreneur, and full-time student from the South Bronx, was invited to the brunch, and says she's happy moms are getting recognition within the Bronx community.
Gonzalez is one of at least 60 moms, grandmothers, aunts and sisters who were hand selected to participate in the event.
"It's great. it's an amazing thing that they're bringing us all together and acknowledging us on our day. I can't wait," Gonzalez says.
The community affairs officer Elizabeth Michel, who organized the event, says she really wants to make it special for the woman who are the foundation of their neighborhood.
"It's just another bridge we are trying to build so we can get closer with the community. Why not the best way than with the mothers?" Michelle says.
