People jammed out in near silence Friday night on the Coney Island Boardwalk.
It hosted its first silent disco, in which dancers listen to music on wireless headphones, thanks to the Parks Department and Councilman Mark Treyger.
Partygoers had a choice between three different radio frequencies, which broadcasted songs from the past and present.
"The best thing is that we're not disturbing anybody, and we're still enjoying all the music right here," said Barbara Teitelbaum.
The event was open to the public, and people brought their children, their relatives and even their dogs.
Treyger said the event was a success and that he hopes to hold more over the summer.
