Police ID man in connection with death of Bed-Stuy father

Police have identified a suspect in connection to last month's fatal shooting of a Bed-Stuy father.
Police say 43-year-old Herman Dunston allegedly shot 29-year-old Johnny Mathis in the head during a cookout at Elanor Roosevelt Playground on May 4.
The circumstances of the shooting are still unclear, although News 12 was told Dunston may have been an unwanted guest at the party and had some kind of altercation with Mathis.
Mathis's mother says she is relieved police have identified a suspect, and hopes they arrest Dunston soon.
The funeral for Mathis will be held Monday at the Lawrence Woodward Funeral Home.
Mathis leaves behind a 5-year-old son.
