A half marathon had residents running in Prospect Park on Sunday for Mother’s Day.

The half marathon consisted of four 3.35 mile loops around Prospect Park.

Male and female runners from ages 13 to 68 ran the course, while family and friends cheered them on.

Each of the participants had different motivations, but some of the runners were doing it for their moms.

Officials say 68 percent of the runners in the race were women, the highest turnout ever for a Citytri-run Mother’s Day event.

The group says it hopes that the event and its turnout can inspire women and mothers in the future to continue running the race.
