Prayer vigil for victims of violence held in Canarsie

Brooklyn religious leaders called for an end to violence during a prayer vigil Monday in Canarise.
The 69th Community Council invited residents to participate in the vigil on Seaview Avenue and Rockaway Parkway. Organizers said that it comes after several Brooklyn families lost loved lost to violence.
Family members of victims attended, including the mother of Brandy Odom - the woman found dismembered in Canarsie Park in April.
Clergy members said they hope the prayers provide some peace to the families.
