A Brooklyn judge dismissed all charges Tuesday against a man who had been convicted of murder when he was 14 years old.
John Bunn, now 41, spent 17 years imprisoned.
He had been charged and convicted of killing an off-duty corrections officer in 1991.
Judge Shawndya Simpson had earlier ordered a new trial after evidence emerged that Bunn could have been framed by former NYPD Detective Louis Scarcella. Tuesday, prosecutors said they would not seek a new trial due to lack of evidence.
As News 12 has reported, many of Scarcella's cases have been reinvestigated after corruption allegations.
Just yesterday, another Brooklyn man had his Scarcella-linked murder indictment dismissed. Rosean Hargrave had spent 24 years in prison for that case.
