Police: Man groped woman sleeping in apartment

Police are on a hunt for a man they say broke into an apartment in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.

News 12 is told the suspect crept into an apartment through an open bedroom window on Clarkson and Rogers avenues.

Police say it happened back on May 12 at around 4:30 a.m.. They say the suspect walked on a second-floor rooftop, then reached through an open window and groped a 21-year-old woman who was sleeping at the time.

When she woke up, the suspect claimed to be a police officer and asked if he could join her in bed.

The victim screamed, scaring off the suspect. She was not harmed in the incident.
