A Holocaust survivor living in Park Ridge has dedicated one of his sculptures.
The ceremony was held Thursday in Edgewater at Veterans Field, overlooking the Hudson River.
The piece is called "Sails."
Sculptor Ephraim Peleg was rescued from the Nazis as a child and hid with neighbors.
Ephraim then escaped to Israel, before coming to the U.S.
"His pieces are very strong,” says Barbara Schaier-Peleg, Ephraim's wife. “They're very powerful. They're very future looking. They represent survival and the importance to continue. The importance to live."
Holocaust survivors from Tenefly, Teaneck, and Englewood also attended the event.
