South Bronx schools get funding for upgrades

Some South Bronx schools are receiving funding for renovations, laptops and other upgrades.
The funding is part of District 17's participatory budgeting process, in which the community votes on how to spend $1 million from the city's upcoming budget.
M.S. 302 and Girls Prep Academy, which are housed in the same building, will share $600,000 to renovate the school auditorium.
Bronx Charter School for the Arts was awarded $150,000 for new laptops.
The money was secured by City Councilman Rafael Salamanca Jr.
