Boogie Down Bites: Cocina Chente

Cocina Chente in Riverdale is known for being a mezcaleria and serving a dish that's ready to erupt.
Named after Vicente Fernandez , the king of rancheras himself, the small bar aims to transport patrons to Mexico with subtle touches in home-like decor and its smoking dishes.
Its wide selection of the Mexican spirit mezcal brings in a curious crowd.
But many say the 'El Vocano' dish will make your taste buds burst with flavor. The dish is served on a 'molcajete' stone rock in a chorizo vegetable sauce, filled with churrasco, chicken and shrimp. It's topped with a fried egg and comes with sides of rice, beans and tortillas.
