Police: Man accused of beating elderly man in Flatbush

Police are looking for a suspect they say attacked an 81-year-old man in Flatbush earlier this week.

The incident happened near East 10th Street and Foster Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the suspect followed the elderly man into his apartment building and attacked him with an unknown blunt object. It happened after the suspect addressed the elderly man on the street earlier.

News 12 is told that the incident began when the elderly man, who only speaks Bengali, didn't understand something the suspect said to him.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
