BRIGHTON BEACH -

The Child and Youth Development Center hosted its Silk Road Festival event Sunday at Brighton Beach.

Hundreds of students from different cultural centers gathered to perform and celebrate an ancient trade route that connected people from the east and west.

The Silk Road linked countries like Georgia, India, Russia, Egypt and many more countries to exchange ideas, art, music and religion.

Students hit the stage to showcase their traditional dances from various cultures and come together to teach others the importance of unity in a city that’s filled with diversity.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams recognized the center for providing various programs for children to explore and learn more about traditions at the event.
