Two known gang members were arrested Monday night after a car chase that ended in Waterbury, police say.
Police arrested Kenneth Jones, 22, and a 17-year-old boy after receiving a tip that the two were in a car with weapons.
Police say they chased the car on Route 25 through Trumball, Monroe and Newtown then lost them in Brookfield. Connecticut State Police eventually spotted the car on Route 8 in Waterbury near Exit 30. The car later crashed, and the two were taken into custody.
"They were aiming to shoot someone," says Bridgeport Police Chief A.J. Perez.
Police found a 9 mm pistol in the car with a 50-round drum loaded with ammunition.
