Police: Merrick man killed in police-involved shooting

A 911 call for a domestic dispute ended Wednesday morning with the death of a Merrick man in a police-involved shooting.
Neighbors told News 12 that they heard a man yelling, and then saw his girlfriend running up and down Murray Place asking for help.
Nassau police responded to the couple's home on Murray Place and Grand Avenue. They then say they heard gunfire.
Family friends say the boyfriend, Alan Goyano, was shot and killed. The girlfriend and her young daughter were not injured.
Nassau police say this was a police-involved shooting, but they are still investigating how many shots were fired and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Neighbors say the couple moved into the home less than a year ago. They say they never saw or heard any obvious signs of trouble.
Police have not yet said if the fatally shot man was armed. A news conference on the incident was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon but was canceled and rescheduled for Thursday.
