Chaos erupted in Bensonhurst overnight after a truck driver lost control of his vehicle, causing a huge pile-up.
Neighbors near 60th Street and 19th Avenue say it is a miracle no one was injured.
They say a private sanitation truck plowed into the sidewalk, taking several parked cars with it.
The force of the crash wrecked several cars as the truck smashed onto the sidewalk, knocking over trees and fences.
News 12 is told the driver ran a red light on 18th Avenue and that he may have been under the influence at the time.
In a statement to News 12, Viking Sanitation said, "Our company has a long track record of safety and we hold ourselves to high standards, including random drug testing for drivers. It appears that this driver failed to adhere to our standards and he was immediately suspended as part of the ongoing investigation of this serious incident.”
