BROWNSVILLE -

Hundreds of children in Brownsville were able to get free Toms shoes Saturday afternoon, thanks to a partnership with two local nonprofits.

The event, organized by Power of Two and Little Essentials, gave away 3,000 pairs of shoes that were provided by Toms. Toms also has a history of charitable initiatives to help children in need.

Both Power of Two and Little Essentials work to support the wellbeing of children in the New York City area.

The shoes came in a range of sizes for children between ages 2 and 9.
