DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN -

The "Broadway in the Boros" free performances series began Friday in Downtown Brooklyn.

The afternoon's performances included "A Bronx Tale" and "Come from Away."

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment says the goal is to make Broadway more accessible.

Three more events are scheduled for this summer -- one each in Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx. More information can be found HERE.
