Police: Man fatally shot in Bushwick

BUSHWICK -

Police are searching for the suspect in a Bushwick shooting that left one man dead early Sunday morning. 

Police tell News 12 it happened shortly after midnight at the intersection of Bushwick Avenue and Beaver Street.

Officials say 33-year-old William Fernandez was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Wyckoff Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

Fernandez's sister says her brother was well-liked in the neighborhood and surrounded by good friends and family.

She hopes a suspect is caught quickly.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
