GREENPOINT -

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspected groper on the run in Greenpoint.

Police say that in two separate incidents, the man used a scooter to scope out his victims before groping them.

The suspect was first reported after approaching and groping a 26-year-old woman near Eckford Street and Meserole Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. on June 10.

On Thursday, June 21, a second victim reported a similar incident just a few blocks away near Meserole Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard.

Police say in each case, the suspect got off his scooter and walked up to the victims on the sidewalk. He then forcibly touched them over their clothing.

The suspect fled in both cases.

Police describe the suspect as short and wearing a dark-colored jacket, a hat and carrying a bag with two stripes on it. They say his scooter is dark in color with a light on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
