Police: Woman carrying baby jumped in front of train at E. 149th St.

Police say a woman struck by a train at the East 149th Street station jumped in front of it with a 2-month-old in her arms.
Both she and the infant were taken to Lincoln Hospital with minor injuries. The train operator has also been hospitalized.
"The person ran down the platform and jumped in front of the train," says Joe Costales, vice president of the Transit Workers Union Local 100.
News 12 has learned that she landed in a low area of the tracks, where she avoided serious injury and was only brushed by the cars.
The station is near Hostos Community College. Regular service has resumed.
