A community is showing an outpouring of support to the family of a 4-year-old girl who was run over and killed in Bushwick.
On Tuesday evening, community members walked to the 83rd Precinct, where they had prayers and music for Luz Gonzalez. The child was killed outside a laundromat last month while riding her scooter on the sidewalk.
Police say the woman driving the car left the scene but didn't know she had hit someone until they pulled her over several blocks away.
Gonzalez's mother calling for justice after the death of her daughter. “I'm out here with my community because I want justice. I want the woman who did this to my daughter to be in jail because she's out there, free all over the place, and I'm here with the pain because I lost my daughter,” says Reyna Candia.
The driver has not been charged yet in connection to Gonzalez's death.
