Nail trends: Gel extensions offer alternative to acrylic
Elizabeth Garcia spent years freelancing until she opened up her own spot in Queens, The Nail Room. She’s adopted a new way of doing nails by using gel extensions instead of gel or acrylic nail tips.
“I was inspired by nail artists in L.A., and I realized I wanted to help more women grow their nails, in a healthier way,” she says.
If you've ever gone to get tips done, you know that sometimes you can’t help but chew them off, leaving you with weak and short nails. But Garcia says the gel extensions are a healthier option if growing your nails is something you want.
A full set of nails, with designs, can cost you anywhere from $60 to $200.
