Police: Teen arrested in Norwalk after high-speed chase

Police say a 17-year-old from Bridgeport is in custody after a high-speed chase in a stolen car.
Authorities say the chase started in Stamford and ended when the suspect drove into someone's backyard on Purdy Road in Norwalk.
The chase began just before 5 a.m. Thursday, making its way onto the Merritt Parkway. The suspect reached up to 100 mph.
Police used "stop sticks" to slow down the car as it traveled north near a New Canaan rest stop.
Police believe the same 17-year-old and another suspect were involved in a separate car chase, also involving a stolen car, around 2 a.m. Thursday. That chase was broken off due to roadwork congestion on I-95.
Police say both vehicles were stolen from the area of High Ridge and Long Ridge roads in Stamford where they say a number of cars were broken into overnight.
Police are continuing to investigate.
