Hundreds attend annual ‘Seniors by the Sea’ event

Hundreds of older Brooklyn residents flocked to Kingsborough Community College for the fifth annual "Seniors by the Sea."
The yearly event hosted by the Borough President's office helps seniors learn health care tools while also allowing them to make new friends.
The city also handed out surveys to address concerns that seniors in the community may have.
One attendee used the survey to speak about her problem with housing accessibility.
"There's no affordable housing for seniors," said Ivonne Waldrona. "We don't have enough senior residences. That's what we needed. We pay all this money in taxes, we don't get anything back."
Other seniors who attended say they are grateful their concerns are being heard.
