A report of a straphanger with a gun sparked panic on a Brooklyn-bound L train, with commuters scrambling into other cars or out of the station when the train stopped for safety.
Police investigated the situation, but they say claims that a man was seen with a gun turned out to be unfounded.
L trains heading toward the Broadway-Junction stop were temporarily delayed because of "NYPD activity at Bedford Avenue," according to the MTA website.
