A Brooklyn-based nonprofit group hosted a benefit concert in Bushwick Saturday night in an effort to change children's lives all across the world.
The International Sports and Music Project held the “Chords for Kids Benefit Concert” with the goal of raising $20,000 for six new sports, music, and dance education programs.
Executive Director Jason Steinberg says there are already kids in New York City, Rwanda, Micronesia, and Syrian refugee camps in Greece whose lives have been changed by these programs.
"To be able to help hundreds of more kids explore their passions, kids who are going through the most profound hardship that you can imagine, we want to give them chances to enjoy themselves,” said Steinberg.
The concert took place at The Well in East Williamsburg.
