32 arrested in connection with gambling and narcotics ring

Police arrested 32 people in an investigation that spanned four states and yielded the seizure of hundreds of thousands of dollars allegedly used for gambling and drugs, according to authorities.
Police say they recovered cash, drugs and guns at a West Village poker house on the Avenue of the Americas.
Police say some of the defendants made numerous drug sales to undercover officers valued at $5,000 in total.
Two men accused of taking part in those drug deals are from Brooklyn. So are another three people suspected of promoting gambling and other charges.
Benjamin Guerrero, a 38-year-old from Brooklyn, allegedly maintained drug stash apartment in a home occupied by family members in the East Village and oversaw the packaging and sales of narcotics.
Officials say Guerrero also served as a pit boss for the West Village poker house.
Bronx resident Luis Chevres, a 48-year-old known as Presulo, faces conspiracy and drug charges.
The police say they recovered a handgun inside his Ellis Avenue apartment in Parkchester.
Additional arrests were made elsewhere in the city, Massachusetts, Georgia and Florida.
