Police urge bicycle, scooter riders in the Bronx to secure items

Police are urging bicycle, scooter and motorcycle riders to secure their items with thefts in the borough on the rise.
Police say the latest incident happened in Clinton Hill. They say a man took a bike from the sidewalk on Hanson Place in July.
Police from the 88th Precinct say it's a good idea to lock your bike or scooter to a fixed object. They say be sure to park in a well-lit area and write down your bike's model and serial number. In addition, police say it's a good idea to have a picture of the bike.
A sales representative from Fulton Bikes in Clinton Hill says people should buy more expensive locks that are larger and more effective. He also says it's important to lock both the wheels and the frames.
