Mother, community leaders demand justice after man shot by off-duty police officer

A mother and elected officials are demanding more action to be taken against an off-duty police officer who was fired after a shooting.
Thavone Santana is still in the hospital after he was shot earlier this month by Sgt. Ritchard Blake.
Blake initially claimed Santana threatened and tried to rob him, but after video of the incident surfaced, investigators say they're now determining whether or not the two had an ongoing dispute.
They say the dispute was possibly over a woman.
Sources say the sergeant was fired from the NYPD, but community officials and activists say that is not enough.
Santana's family say he is conscious, but that he's still in a lot of pain and is expecting a long road to recovery.
A spokesperson from the district attorney's office says they're conducting an independent and thorough investigation into the incident.
