#N12BK: 'Furternity Leave' for new pet owners
A company is offering its employees leave if they adopt a new pet.
Minneapolis marketing firm Nina Hale is offering their employees 'Furternity Leave.'
The program allows new pet parents to take a week off from work in order to bond with their new pets.
Many companies had begun to offer pet insurance to their employees as well but this is the first case in which a company has offered paid time off for getting a new pet.
Nina Hale's 'Furternity Leave' applies to any animal that does not live in a tank or cage.
The company's CEO says she wants her employees to have a work-life balance.
The company also offers regular maternity and paternity leave, travel reimbursement, and a wellness stipend along with short workdays on Fridays.
