Brooklyn residents feel the heat as temperatures reach 90s

Brooklyn residents felt the heat Tuesday as temperatures soared into the 90s.
Many headed outdoors to the beach, where they say it felt cooler by the water. Temperatures neared 95 degrees.
Officials are urging residents to take advantage of the cooling centers around the city.
The Bushwick Library is one of those designated cooling centers. Librarians say anyone looking to escape the heat is welcome.
Some residents chose to stay active without overheating. Kids splashed in the mist from the splash pad at Rodney Playground South. Parents say it was a fun and easy way to get kids outside, even on a hot day.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Wednesday's temperatures are expected to reach 96 degrees.
