Police say a popular vegan restaurant in Bushwick was robbed last weekend.
Sol Sips owner Francesca Chaney says she arrived to work Sunday morning and found the glass window pane broken. She says she called police and when they went inside the cafe, they found that it was broken into and several valuable items were stolen.
Police tell News 12 the incident happened overnight between Saturday and Sunday.
News 12 is told an iPad, a cash register with money, a Samsung tablet and a bike were stolen.
Chaney says the stolen items, along with having to stay closed for two days, added up to a loss of $3,000.
She says she's upset that someone would do this but is thankful to the community for being by her side.
"I feel hopeful because we are now trying to move forward," Chaney says. "We got a lot of support from the community--contributions from people who have eaten at Sol Sips and encouragement.”
Police say they're still investigating the incident.
