Police: Man tried to rape woman on highway overpass

Police say a man attacked and tried to rape a woman on the New England Thruway near Steenwick Avenue.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday. The overpass connects to a small walking path and nearby roadways with access to parking.
Police say the 20-year-old woman was pushing her child in a stroller when a man pushed away the stroller, grabbed the woman's arm and tossed her to the ground. They say he touched her breasts, tried to kiss her and attempted to take off her pants. But police say he fled as someone else approached.
The suspect was last seen running toward Givan Avenue.
Police describe the curly haired suspect as being around 31 years old, standing 5 feet 7 inches and weighing about 160 pounds.
Police say the victim got away without injury and refused medical attention.
