Man accused of fatally stabbing wife appears before judge

Prosecutors say a man showed no mercy to his wife or her family after he allegedly stabbed her to death Monday morning.
Virgil Solis was arraigned in Bronx court Tuesday.
The family of 53-year-old Valerie Solis declined to comment on the slaying.
Virgil Solis did not respond to reporters when he was escorted out of the 48th Precinct Monday night, hours after the medical examiner removed his wife's body from her Tremont home.
Prosecutors say they believe they know the motive, and that Solis had made a confession tape about his wife.
Solis didn't want any man near his wife, according to prosecutors.
Friends say the victim had one daughter with another man before she was friends with Virgil Solis, and that she barely saw her husband.
