A West Babylon man was arrested after allegedly following two teenage girls on separate occasions and attempting to pull one of them inside his van.
Marwan Hanna was arrested Tuesday night at his home on America Avenue.
Police say the first alleged incident happened on West Main Street in Babylon in August when Hanna allegedly approached a 14-year-old girl. They say a good Samaritan intervened and Hanna took off.
The second alleged incident occurred earlier this month in a parking lot off of Montauk Highway in West Babylon. Hanna allegedly approached another 14-year-old girl, asking if she wanted a ride.
Police say he then demanded she get in his van and tried to grab her, but she was able to escape.
Neighbors told News 12 that Hanna lives with his wife, kids and his brother.
The incidents happened close to school grounds, and the West Babylon assistant superintendent sent a letter home to parents letting them know about what happened.
"Parents and guardians are once again encouraged to review steps their children should take when confronted by strangers and the need to be alert for suspicious individuals," the letter states.
Police are asking any other potential victims to call them at 631-854-8126.
Hanna has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
