Police: Teen critical after Stamford shooting

Stamford police are investigating a shooting that left a teenage victim fighting for his life.
Police canvassed for evidence at Southwood Square apartments, where residents say it was just past 11 p.m. Thursday when they heard between five and seven gunshots ring out.
According to police, the 17-year-old victim was hit twice, including once in the head.  
Officers found him collapsed behind one of the buildings, and he was rushed to Stamford Hospital.
A witness says she was at the scene with the victim's mother, trying to keep her calm.
Neighbors offered their thoughts and prayers to the family as the teen remains in critical condition.
There's currently no information on any potential suspects.
