Police say a man is being held in connection with the shooting death of a 24-year-old woman in Bushwick.
The victim, Sade Sanchez, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting Sunday night.
According to officials, Sanchez's ex-boyfriend Gabriel Rivera turned himself in to police Monday morning. He was being held at the 83rd Precinct.
Police say the shooting followed a domestic dispute between Sanchez and Rivera.
Sanchez was outside with her mother last night near her home on Menahan Street when police say Rivera approached them, took out a gun and shot her multiple times. Police say he then ran off.
Sanchez was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Friends of the family tell News 12 that she had two young children. One friend says he's known the couple for a while and says he knew that they were having issues in their relationship, but couldn't have imagined that it would lead to this.
It is unclear what charges Rivera could face at this time.
