Members of the NYPD Explorers program helped out at a soup kitchen Monday to help the less fortunate.
The Explorers volunteered with the 71st Precinct to wash dishes and stack food at Masbia Soup Kitchen in Flatbush, which offers residents free meals.
The NYPD's youth leadership program teaches young people ages 14 to 20 how law enforcement works. Volunteering is part of the program.
The side manager of Masbia says that they're short on volunteers and that the group is organized and efficient.
The students say they were inspired to stay active in their community by helping out others.
