Fire Officials: 5 injured after fire in Sunset Park deli

SUNSET PARK -

A total of five people sustained injuries after a fire early this morning at a Sunset Park deli.

The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. inside 5623 6th Ave.

Fire officials say three of those injured are believed to be residents and they are being treated for minor injuries. Two firefighters were also hurt, one of them with minor injuries, the other seriously hurt. Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Officials were able to get the fire under control in about an hour and a half.

The fire marshal's office say they are investigating the fire.
